Introducing the Kingscote Grey Multi Stock

The Kingscote Grey Multi Stock (0750) has just been launched from the Ibstock West Hoathly factory in East Sussex. This dark, grey multi-coloured brick with black spotting has been developed to meet the increasing demand for darker bricks from architects in the South East for refurbishment and renovation projects. This colour and style of brick was traditionally used in Sussex, Surrey & Kent as well as Greater London, often in association with plain red stocks to add detail.

Unlike the majority of dark stock bricks, which often result as a by-product in the kiln, the Kingscote Grey Multi is purpose-made and therefore unlimited in terms of availability. Complementing the ever popular West Hoathly range, it is expected to quickly establish itself in the market as an alternative to other dark bricks which may have limited availability and as an alternative to the Luton Grey, a popular product in its time in the Home Counties but now no longer available.

Celebrating 300 years at Chailey

At our Chailey Factory we are celebrating 300 years of continuous brick making. We marked the occasion in the summer with a hugely successful factory open day and we have now produced a video which focuses specifically on the history of the Chailey Factory and the traditional clamp method of firing bricks. SATS Building, Clongowes Wood College, Co Kildare

The new buildings at Clangowes Wood College, Clane, Co Kildare comprise of the "SATS" (Science, Arts, Technology), Sports and Maintenance Buildings (together with associated works). They provide contemporary learning facilities for students which will contribute to the quality of the Colleges' environment and heritage.

Ibstock's Tonbridge Handmade Pastone (4044) product was specifically chosen as it adds variety to the visual palette of the College's building without compromising the integrity of the existing core. The Tonbridge Handmade Pastone (4044) is deeply textured with "overburns", and will age gracefully. Following the withdrawal of the Dorking Cream 4146 from South Holmwood the wirecut alternatives are the Severn Buff (0648) from Cattybrook and the Minster Cream Blend (2419) from Dorket Head. If a stock brick is required then the Leicester Buff Stock (0197) is an alternative.
